Well, I don't mind writing it, that's for sure (though my *real* novel that I'm going to try to get published in the spring is in dire need of completion and then editing). I've wanted to write something like this for a long time. The length of the introductory segment is what I can complete during the train ride segment of my commute (my total roundtrip daily commute is five hours!), so I may make it a thrice-a-week thing. Back in the Olden Dayes of the AOL messageboards, I wrote my first novel as a serial in a Star Trek forum. LOL So I'm familiar with serials, and I'm also...well...mondo geeky. :) ;)

Well, I don’t mind writing it, that’s for sure (though my *real* novel that I’m going to try to get published in the spring is in dire need of completion and then editing). I have a love-hate relationship with writing like that - I love it simply because it's awesome to read, but at the same time, I hate it because I end up putting things off that I should be doing so I can find out <i>now</i> how it ends.....lol. So, I think it's very good, and I really want to see where you go with this, I can see so many possibilities. Actually, since I learned long ago that the best way to write is to "write about what you know," I have to confess: the best friend with an alcoholic father physically abusing Elsie happened to me (I was Elsie, of course, though that's not my real name). Fourth grade through six grade...ugh. The rest of the stuff is based on a lot of what I and others have talked about on the various blogs with respect to the way the "Obesity Epidemic" trend is going. I can see the government coming into our homes "for the good of our children." I'm going to try to be as realistic as possible, i.e., any social program needs to have the support of its victims in order to truly work so it can't be extreme (at the beginning), but I also want to illustrate the insidious 'ratcheting-up' effect of these kinds of personally and familially invasive programs. I'm looking forward to writing more! I know I'm not a masterful writer yet, but this is good practice, and I hope I entertain some people at the same time. ;) Thanks, vesta.
